NEA Awards Nomination Announcement Lagos, Nigeria June 1st!

The 7th Annual Nigeria Entertainment Awards nomination party is going down in Lagos Nigeria on the 1st of June 2012. It is strictly invitation only event where the nominees are going to be announced.

2011 NEA AWARDS VOTING BEGINS

NEW YORK, NY – (June 17, 2011) – The nominations were announced on May 26th, 2011 and today voting begins for the selection of winners for the 2011 Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA). The producers of the award show are pleased to announce that online voting for all award categories is now open, and also that the award show will be hosted by the rib cracking master himself, Julius D’Genius Agwu.

Voting is online at www.nigeriaentawards.com , and runs through to Aug. 27th, 2011 after which the polls will be closed. Online voting provides international participation in the NEAs by providing fans from various parts of the world the opportunity to vote for their favorite artists, actor/actress, producer, DJ etc. Fans of nominated artists, actors/actresses, producers, DJs and so on are encouraged to show their support for their favorites by voting. For those on the go, the NEA producers have included a mobile option that allows fans to log on and cast their votes using their mobile devices.

THE PRODUCERS OF THE 6TH ANNUAL NEA AWARDS ANNOUNCES ITS NOMINEES FOR THE 2011 NEA AWARDS SCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 4th 5:00PM AT THE SHARP THEATER AT SYMPHONY SPACE IN NEW YORK

NEW YORK, NY– (May 26, 2011) – The Producers of the NEA Awards are pleased to announce the Nominees for the Sixth Annual NEA Awards scheduled for Sunday, September 4th, 2011 at 5:00pm at the Sharp Theater at Symphony Space in New York. This year’s nominees highlight new and young talents that are destined to shape the future of African Entertainment.

In the music categories, Wizkid, Darey, Dbanj and Duncan Mighty lead this year’s pack with three nominations each. Wizkid nabs Hottest Single of the Year, Best New Act of the Year and Best Pop/R&B Artist of the Year. Darey is nominated for Best Album of the Year, Best Pop/R&B Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year categories. Dbanj is nominated for Hottest Single of the Year, Pop/R&B Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Duncan Mighty’s nomination includes Best Album of the Year, Hottest Single of the Year and Indigenous Artist of the Year categories. Other artists receiving multiple nominations this year includes Asa, Naeto C, Banky W, MI, Don Jazzy, Ice Prince and Olamide.

The Hottest Single of the year is shaping up to be one of the key categories to watch this year with the songs that dominated the airwaves in the last twelve months. And Best New Act of the year showcases the best and newest talent to enter the game.
The Pan African Artist of the Year features the biggest names in African music scene, Fally Ipupa (DRC), R2Bees (Ghana), Awilo (Congo), Winky D (Zimbabwe), Juliana Kanyomozi (Ugandan) and VIP (Ghana) are all nominated in what is considered the best artist in Africa category.
In the TV and Film categories, MNET’s Tinsel and Jeta Amata’s “Inale” both received four nomination nodes. Tinsel’s Victor Olaotan and Gideon Okeke both received nominations for Best Actor in a TV Series/Reality/Game Show. And Damilola Adegbite and Matilda Obaseki received nominations for Best Actress in a TV Series/Reality/Game Show. Jeta Amata receives nominations for Best Picture and Best Directing in a Film/Short Story for Inale. And the two stars of the movie also nabbed nominations, Caroline Chikezie for Best Actress in a Film/Short Story and Hakeem Kae Kassim for Best Actor in a Film/Short Story.

The Pan African Actor and Actress of the Year categories are quite exciting and feature the who’s who in African Film industry. Ama K. Ambrose, Akofa Asiedu, Nadia Buari, Yvonne Okoro, Jackie Appiah and Yvonne Cherry are all nominated for Best Actress category and Chris Attoh, Senanu Gideon Gbedawo, John Dumelo, Edward Kagutuzi, Majid Michel and Van Vicker are all nominated for Best Actor category.

NEW YORK, NY– (April 11, 2011) – The Producers of the NEA Awards are pleased to announce its Sixth Annual NEA Awards weekend, a celebration of African Entertainment, scheduled for Friday, September 2nd through Monday, September 5th, 2011. This year’s event is a four day Labor Day weekend extravaganza and will include an Entertainment Seminar and networking, Picnic, Gala Events and the Award Ceremony. The show promises to feature many of Africa’s top entertainers and African international stars in the Diasporas.

The producers of the show will also like to announce its 2011 Categories (see full list below) and nominations are now officially opened. All artists are encouraged to send materials for consideration to neaawards@gmail.com on or before April 27th.

The producers of NEA Awards have elected Education as Vaccine for Aids (EVA), a 501c3 non-for-profit organization that was founded to establish systems and structures that will provide opportunities for youth to make responsible decisions concerning their development as a beneficiary of this year’s awards and a portion of the event proceeds will be donated to EVA to support its projects in Africa.

The producers will also like to announce the addition of Ms. Nnenna Lovette and Ms. Bukola Akinfaderin to the team. Nnenna is a marketing and branding executive with many years of experience in developing brands for major clients. She will be responsible for managing the NEA brand and media communications. Bukola is a business development and marketing executive, and the pioneer of Jandus Radio, a mobile music media application. Bukola will handle Marketing and Business Development for NEA.
