New Music: Brymo – Go Hard

Brymo releases his third major single under Chocolate City Music label titled Go Hard, taken from his highly anticipated album #TheSonofaKapenta.
Go Hard is a fun, energetic dance song written by Brymo and also sees the singer reuniting with fellow Choc Boi Jesse Jagz to produce the track.  As well as being known for his distinct voice, Brymo is also known for his hooks and he shows off a great deal of this talent on Go Hard. With its catchy chorus and ‘azonto feel,’ Go Hard is set to take the club scene by storm.
Brymo continues to show his astounding success in the Nigerian music scene; he was recently nominated for a Channel O award for the Most Gifted video of the year for his single Ara. His forthcoming album – #TheSonofaKapenta will be released in November 2012.

Brymo:SonOfAKarpenta

Brymo (born Ashimi Olawale) is a Nigerian singer, composer, songwriter and recording artist signed to the Chocolate City music label.

 Early life
Ashimi Olawale was born in 1986, the son of a carpenter father and a petty trading mother. He grew up in the neighbourhood of Okokomaiko).Though times were tough, his parents saw that he received a primary education at Aganju Aka Primary School between the years 1990 to 1997. Between 1997 and 2003, he attended Ajangbadi High School, the local public middle school.
In 1999, while still attending high school, Brymo wrote his first song, aged just 14. Pleased with his results, the young Olawale was inspired to pursue a career in music. In 2002, while still attending secondary school, Brymo formed a band called Aliens with three friends. Brymo played a major role in the group, mainly acting as the composer and songwriter. In a period of 2 years, Brymo wrote over 85 songs for the band, including their debut single. By 2005 the band broke up. It had not been particularly successful, and several of the members needed to return to school.

NOWplayIN:KAYZ - Odele Ayo

Born in the mid 80s in the city of Lagos and later left to school in Ilorin at the age of four. Kayz picked interest in music at the age of 13, when he used to listen to oldies from his late dad's plates. He got his inspiration from Marvin Gay, Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, King Sunny Ade and Chief Ebenezer Obey.

On the 1st of October 2011, Nigeria turned 51 and to celebrate the independence, Lagosians stood still at Deuces Lounge for Blackbody Entertainment’s Chykay.

Blackbody Entertainment in association with SoundCity and 360nobs treated music lovers to an evening of awesome music featuring Chykay with support from Beazy, Pope, Zara, LOS Boys, Doctor Frabz,Wizboy, Brymo and many others with DJ xCLUSIVE behind the decks and great hosting by Dotun of Cool FM. In attendance were Rita Dominic, the Choc boys, YSG’s Vector, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Cool FM’s OAPs et al. It was a well attended event and below are pictures to prove it.

The Chocolate Diaries. A compilation of never seen before footage from their 10 city Glo Rock ‘n; Rule tour. The tour sees MI, Jesse Jags, Ice Prince and Brymo stop at Enugu, Awka, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Benin, Yola, Kaduna, Ilorin and Makurdi with Maverick Films keeping the camera rolling at every moment. The documentary will soon be released.
