V.I.Peek: #WhoIsLeoWonder?(Tani LeoWonder) - Leo 'Ara' Wonder

I first came into contact with Leo's workas far back as 2010 on a cover of Jason Durelo's What you say..i could barely tell the difference until i heard a yoruba part. I was in awe. Years later. he seemed to have gone under ground until the smash hit 'Ife wa gbona': a duet he did with Tiwa Savage.
Since then the question has been 'Tani Leo Wonder(who is Leo wonder)? Here's an introductory track from him or re-introduction as the case might be. I rate this dude highly. go listen. Produced by Admire beats

MAVIN ACTIVATED! DON JAZZY FLOATS NEW LABEL,SIGNS TIWA SAVAGE

The ace producer and former CEO of Mohits Records announced his new label on Twitter a few hours ago. It's no longer Mohits Records, its now Mavin Records (Mavin pronounced as May-vin). And he has signed the new label's first female artist; the unbelievably talented Ms Tiwa Savage. Aside from D'banj and his brother Kayswitch, all the other artists under the now defunct Mohits records are with Mavin Records.
Meanwhile a compilation album titled Solar Plexus, produced by Don Jazzy and featuring Wande Coal, Dr Sid, D'Prince and Tiwa Savage will be released tomorrow May 8th.
The record exec also tweeted that more artists will be signed to the label soon.

Here's what Don Jazzy had to say :
I see Mavin Records being the power house of Music in Africa in the shortest possible time. I know Rome wasn’t built in a day but with a lot of hard work, a good and God fearing team, our friends and fans, TV houses, radio stations, press, bloggers and most of all with God on our side, there is nothing we cannot achieve.
I definitely won’t forget my past because I wouldn’t be where I am today without it. I know there are questions unanswered, mysteries unsolved, wounds to heal but I would really appreciate if we allow time to heal the wounds for us all instead of digging them up again.
I love and respect the press and bloggers a lot and believe they will play a major role in healing our wounds and allow the forward movement. I would love to thank everyone that contributed in making Mohits records as successful as it got. We wouldn’t have done it without you all. The love and support you have given us thus far is definitely not in vain.  You all helped create international superstars and none of us will let you down.
It is going to be a very exciting journey from here. I can’t wait to show you guys all we have planned for you all. We have some other Mavins that are not activated yet still under construction that I’m positive you are going to love. Please open up your hearts, lend us your ears, give us your love and support as always and let’s continue to entertain you. Please don’t forget to visit www.mavinrecords.com and join the fan club “MAVIN LEAGUE” for exclusive news, music and gifts.

Pictures from 9ice’s Birthday and Industry nite

It was all smiles at the African Bar, Oriental Hotel, venue of this week’s Industry Nite which hosted Alapomeji Records boss 9ice as he reunited with long-time friends and crew mates ID Cabasa, Lord of Ajasa and others.
9ice who used the opportunity to celebrate his birthday was seen discussing and sharing jokes with long-time friend, collaborator and producer ID Cabasa in one of the backstage rooms. Cabasa who heads CODED Tunes played a major part in producing 9ice’s first two albums – ‘Certificate’ and ‘Gongo Aso’.

After ‘Gongo Aso’ was released 2008, Cabasa gradually played lesser roles in 9ice’s music and eventually became a guest producer on subsequent albums ‘Tradition’ and ‘Versus’. Reports say 9ice also alienated himself from former CODED Tunes allies including 2Phat.

At Industry Nite on Wednesday January 18, 9ice also met up with long-time friends such as rapper Lord of Ajasa and pop act Jah Bless and even called both artistes on stage to perform ‘Le fenu so’ and ‘Pass me the ganja’ respectively.
Other acts that performed at the event are Alapomeji acts Seriki and Snow, as well as ex-Alapomeji acts Ajayi Brothers. Others are Tiwa Savage, Vector, DJ Jimmy JATT, JJC, Coded Tunes rapper oLamide, Dammy Krane and others. Popular faces that attended include Mo’Hits boss Don Jazzy, Dr SID, Terry G, Modenine, Sexy Steel and others.
